Why Choose a Lightweight Disc?
Easier acceleration: A lighter disc may require less effort to bring up to speed, which can make some discs easier to throw for players with developing technique.
Potential distance benefits: Players who have difficulty achieving the intended flight of heavier drivers may find that a lighter version better suits their throwing power.
Different wind performance: Lightweight discs can be more affected by wind, so heavier or more overstable options may be preferable in some conditions.
Comfort and control: Choosing an appropriate weight can help players find a disc that feels comfortable and produces more consistent results.
Flight characteristics also depend on disc mold, stability, plastic, and throwing technique. Browse lightweight disc golf discs at Disc Republic to explore different weights and find options suited to your game.
